"DIS/DTC received 3 times; DCS not recognized; Giving up after 3 attempts"

Updated over a year ago

Q: What does "DIS/DTC received 3 times; DCS not recognized; giving up after 3 attempts" error mean when a fax fails to get sent?

A: Usually, this error occurs when the receiving line or equipment communicates to our system that fax data can be received at a certain speed when it actually cannot. Before the fax is sent, the transmission speed is negotiated by both ends so we attempt to send the fax at a rate that cannot actually be accepted by the recipient.

Please provide the fax number you are trying to fax to Gardiant support when you get this error and we will work with the fax provider to see if there are any adjustments that can be done for the fax to get sent successfully.
