Dictating Case Notes not only saves time and increases efficiency but is also more secure and compliant with security standards. Unlike phone voice-to-text features, your dictations and Case Notes remain securely within Gardiant's cloud security boundaries ensuring the safety and privacy of your data.
How to use the feature in Gardiant:
Click on the microphone in the Description field to begin dictating:
When you click on the microphone in the Case Note for the first time, you will be prompted to allow the application to use your microphone. If you don't allow microphone use, the feature won't work. This step is necessary to ensure that the feature can access your device's microphone and transcribe your speech accurately.
Transcription can be stopped by clicking the microphone icon, closing or minimizing the Case Note window.
While the microphone is ON, you will not be able to move the cursor to different locations in the Description field. To move the cursor to a different location, turn the microphone OFF, place the cursor where you want the text to appear, and then turn the microphone back ON to continue dictating.
How to improve transcribing accuracy:
Speak out full words rather than acronyms. This will ensure that your notes are transcribed accurately, without any errors or misunderstandings.
Don't speak punctuation like you do for your phone texts. Otherwise, it will spell out the punctuation word. This can be frustrating and time-consuming to correct so it's best to avoid speaking punctuation altogether.
Wait for everything you spoke out loud to appear in the Case Note Description field before clicking the microphone icon to turn it OFF.
If the dictation feature is not transcribing your speech correctly, you can try speaking more slowly or adjusting the position of your device's microphone.
Another way to improve the accuracy of the dictation feature is to reduce background noise. Find a quiet place to dictate your text or consider using a microphone headset.
It's always a good idea to proofread your transcribed text for accuracy. While the dictation feature is incredibly useful, it is not perfect and may make mistakes. Double-checking your text can help catch any errors and ensure that your message is clear and concise.
